QPR Target Chelsea Youngster

Reports today suggest that Queens Park Rangers are looking to a Chelsea youngster to solve their current plight at left-back.

Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt is being reported as a target by the Kilburn Times, with the 18-year-old defender given a chance to impress in the R`s recent friendly with the FA Cup winners.

At present Rangers have one solid option in that position in Gary Borrowdale, with Matthew Connolly also able to adapt, but further first choice options are required for Rangers to compete effectively.

He would hope to follow in the footsteps of former loanee Michael Mancienne who has since gone on to be selected for the England national side.

Journalist Ben Kosky recently did a Q&A for Vital QPR in preview to the new season, you can find this by Clicking Here >>>

He'd do a solid job for you and gain some experience!

I'm surprised we haven't done this more to be honest, it was mutually beneficial with Mancienne and Smith (to an extent). Scott Sinclair did it in bursts when he could fit his head down the tunnell. What is your opinion on him Merlin?

I'm all for taking players on loan from our neighbours. Wouldn't say no to a Nugent or Ashton if we were offered one too.

Considering Nugent has just had a bust up - maybe Portsmouth isn't the place for him!
Boxer
I agree with the loan system, but it's also had its down side from Chelscum, I remember Ben Sahar as being particularly useless!
Guttermouth
Sahar was a strange one, he played brilliantly against Fulham pre-season and scored two very good goals - I think expectancy levels soon followed, he didn't get into the matchday squads because of the loan restrictions, and then his mum decided to take matters into her own hands, bless him!

Someone has been making enquiries about Nugent. Could it be us ?
