Prospective loanee Patrick Van Aanholt has joined Coventry City despite reports linking him with QPR.

The full back had been linked to Loftus Road in recent days but has joined the Sky Blues on a deal which lasts until December 31.

Yet to make his debut for Chelsea, the youngster was scouted from PSV by Frank Arnesen before being brought over in 2007.

Rangers look set to field Gary Borrowdale at left back tomorrow against Blackpool, with Matthew Connolly also an adaptable option if fit to play following a calf complaint.

Yeah, that's a shame. Coventry too. Odd choice.

Contrary to belief he was never on trial with us, or played for us. Kilburn Times reported our interest, correct - but people have made outstanding leaps in logic on this move! We'll see if it's such a shame in a few weeks time I expect!

He's got bags of skill, bit lightweight but handy enough going forward.
