Exeter City forward Richard Logan has been singled out as the One To Watch as the R`s travel to St James Park tomorrow.

Logan started life at Ipswich Town in 1998 after graduating as a professional from the famous academy. He made his debut from the bench replacing John Kennedy in the final minute of the clash against Wolves in a gamble to get back into a game they trailed by a goal.

A few weeks later he came from the bench once more to replace striker Richard Naylor as the Tractor Boys lost at home to Grimsby Town.

A further defeat came against Huddersfield Town the following season in Logan`s only appearance of the 1999-00 campaign. Following an appearance in the FA Cup victory away at Morecambe the young striker was loaned out to Cambridge United with a view to gaining first team football.

In his second game for the U`s he bagged his first career goal in a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers. In 2001-02 he was loaned out again, this time to Torquay United, where a more consistent run in the first team saw Logan score some much needed goals.

Strikes against Oxford United, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient gave him four goals in 16 appearances for the Gulls.

Returning to Ipswich for a game against Middlesbrough, Logan failed to establish himself in the first-team set-up, and joined Boston United on loan finding his goalscoring touch at York Street.

The 6"1 striker bagged six goals in eight games on loan with the Pilgrims, prompting them to snap him up on a free transfer. In 20 further games Logan scored four more goals in Boston United`s mid-table finish.

He started the season going through a lean patch, and didn`t score again for the Pilgrims with Peterborough United swooping to sign the former Ipswich man initially on loan. He scored seven goals in League One for the Posh, including a brace against Notts County.

Peterborough loaned out Logan to Shrewsbury Town where he scored a solitary goal in five appearances, where he bounced back to the first team fray at London Road scoring five goals in the latter half of the 2004-05 season.

A decent start to the 2005-06 season saw him score three goals, before moving out on loan to Lincoln City. While at Sincil Bank he scored two goals in eight appearances, once again giving him the impetus to return to Peterborough in form, scoring another couple of times before the season`s close.

It wasn`t enough to keep him at London Road after three years and 78 appearances for the Posh. He joined ambitious Conference side Weymouth, bagging five goals in the early part of the season. When it became apparent that the Terras had entered financial difficulty Logan was sold off to Exeter City.

He scored four goals in the latter part of the 2006-07 season for the Grecians, helping them to the Playoff Final which they lost out to Morecambe, nevertheless Exeter were to come again, and it would be Logan that hit goalscoring form.

18 goals in 39 appearances was a career best for Logan, who scored an important goal to secure the Grecians passage to the playoff final once again. This time they fended off Cambridge United to mark their return to the Football League.

He managed only four goals last season, but the latter of them is seen by many supporters as one of the most important in their history. He scored the winning goal away at Rotherham United on the final day of the League Two season to promote the Grecians to the next level.

Logan has been struggling with a calf injury of late, but is hoping to take his place in the squad to play Queens Park Rangers tomorrow night.
