Marshall Signs For Aston Villa

Former QPR trialist Andy Marshall has signed for Premier League Aston Villa, rejecting a deal from Queens Park Rangers.

It had been thought that QPR were keen on making the former Coventry City and Ipswich Town goalkeeper their number two to Radek Cerny, but Marshall has opted to join the Premier League club.

He will sit behind Americans Brad Friedel and Brad Guzan in the pecking order with young Elliott Parish and Marshall forced to fight it out for the third placed slot.

Marshall had played in QPR friendlies, most notably in the 3-0 victory over Southampton a week before the start of the season, but any potential deal stalled with Villa swooping for his signature.
