R's Get Accrington

Queens Park Rangers have drawn Accrington Stanley in the Second Round of the Carling Cup

The R's progressed to the second round following their victory over Exeter City (5-0) at St James' Park on Tuesday.

Accrington secured thier path to the second round by defeating Walsall 2-1 at home.

The last time the two sides met was in the Third Division in January 1960, when the R's defeated Stanley 5-1.

The game will be played at Loftus Road on the week commencing Monday August 24 2009 and it will be the first time that the R's have faced Accrington in a cup competition.
