Sharp Shooting QPR
Queens Park Rangers lead the way in the Coca Cola Championship in terms of shooting statistics.
The R`s have peppered Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle in the opening two fixtures with a combined total of 34 shots - 19 of which have been on target.
This gives the R`s a 56% chance of hitting the target whenever they strike for goal. This is combined with hitting the woodwork four times in the opening two games.
Adel Taarabt is leading the way for Rangers in the shooting stakes hitting five of his seven shots on target, along with the weekend`s goalscorer Heidar Helguson who has had two efforts on target in six attempts, hitting the woodwork once.
On this form you can see that only the heroics of messrs Rachubka and Larrieu have denied QPR from turning these opportunities into goals, and it stands them in good stead for Tuesday`s trip to Bristol City.
In Robins forward Nicky Maynard however they face formidable opposition, with ten of his 12 efforts hitting the target, one of which was his goal in the controversial fixture with Crystal Palace this weekend.

Stats that I hope speak louder than words, we're getting there and we're getting chances, just the rub of the green evading us with two good goalkeepers to contend with! Hopefully we'll put one or two past Gerken tomorrow - don't want to have to write 'Gerken Puts Rangers In A Pickle'....

Hell-guson shots on target rate 30%. I don't really need to write anything else now, do I? At least he scored with one of em on Sat though.
Guttermouth
..That puts him 16th best in the Championship - higher than Lita and many other messiahs that we should have signed in the summer.. Cut him some slack Guttermouth, new season off the mark sharply, lets get behind him rather than deriding him the whole time.

Believe it or not Boxer, that was actually a positive message on Hell-guson, stating that at least he scored. However, I'll only start singing his praises when he starts to score regularly (which he's only ever done once in his career) and put effort in through a whole game. I can't see where you get your opinion that he runs his unmentionables off every game- whenever I'm there he's a completely different player.
Guttermouth
I'm not asking you to sing his praises, just the regular criticism cannot be helpful for the lad. His movement is better than some of the strikers we have believe it or not. While others will flit around the box they won't make angles like Heidar does when it matters most. He does hang on the last man a lot hence the frustrating offsides, however when he gets it right it gives him a yard or so off his man to work with. Oh and will you stop calling him 'Hell-guson' please! :P

I'd like to know how many shots challenged the keeper, and how many were soft catches though.

On target is on target Imsitiv - making the keeper earn his pennies which is far better than last season. Also there is a degree of bad luck hitting the woodwork four times in two games! If it hadn't have been for those keepers we could have had a few goals. Rachubka in particular pulled off some excellent saves.

I'm just difficult to satisfy I guess, but I'd rather have 2 well taken goals that a dozen powder puffs aimed directly at the keeper, on target, but lame.
But yes it's LOTS better than last year, and the one before, and...
But then what have I been saying?
