Young QPR Side Lose At Watford

A Queens Park Rangers XI lost out to Watford today in a useful run out for Angelo Balanta

A side including Under 18`s goalscorers Frankie Sutherland and Sam Bewick travelled to the Watford training ground in the absence of reserve team fixtures.

First team squad members Angelo Balanta, Matteo Alberti and Antonio German along with Lee Brown, Joe Oastler and Elvijs Putnins all received welcome run outs in the 3-0 defeat at the hands of the hornets.

There was even a full game for the impressive Elliott Cox who laid on two goals for the Under 18`s against Wycombe last weekend while also notching himself.

Despite the defeat boss Keith Ryan remained upbeat: 'It was disappointing to lose but I was delighted to be able to get this fixture as a fitness exercise, because that was the main purpose of it," he told QPR.co.uk.

'The Reserve League starts next week, and the lads have been itching for a game, so this came at a good time, in that respect.

'In all honesty, we didn't really do ourselves justice today, and our passing was a little disjointed.

'Having said that, it's the first time that a lot of these lads have actually played together, so that obviously didn't help.'

QPR:Putnins, Harriman (Sutherland, 55), Brown, Oastler, Harris, Parmentor, Cox, Alberti (Bewick, 60), German, Balanta (Malloy, 60), Parker.

Subs not used: Ehmer, Weeney, Bailey.
