Jim Praises Paladini Over Watson Deal

QPR boss Jim Magilton has praised the club Sporting Director Gianni Paladini for engineering the deal to take Ben Watson to W12.

Ben Watson penned a six-month loan deal at Loftus Road today (Tuesday) and Magilton told QPR.co.uk about the addition while hailing the work of Paladini.

'Ben will prove to be a fantastic addition to the squad," he said.

'He's got a proven track record in this division, as well as the Premier League, and I'm just delighted we've been able to bring him to the Club.

'He's a box-to-box midfielder, who scores goals and puts his boot in - he's got all the attributes that you need to play in that central midfield role.'

Sporting director Paladini has kept tabs on the midfielder for some time, going back to the reign of Iain Dowie last season, and Magilton was quick to praise his role in the deal as Rangers beat off two Premier League clubs for his signature.

'Gianni has worked around the clock over the last 48 hours or so to get this done, and I'm indebted to him for that.

'There were a lot of other big, big Clubs in for him, but Gianni and the Board have pulled out all the stops, so I'm delighted.'

Watson will have to wait a week for his first taste in a Rangers shirt owing to international weekend, but looks set to be in the squad at that faces winless Peterborough United in a week on Saturday.

A lot of people love to criticize the man but credit where it is due. He did a fantastic job getting the lad to play at Loftus Road.

Any man who re-mortgaged his house to keep the club going has my vote... No PR, pure fact... whatever his motives that's a very nice thing to do.
