'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hogan Calls For Focus

Queens Park Rangers winger Hogan Ephraim has put pay to pre-match Chelsea talk indicating that up-coming fixtures are all the team are concentrating on.

While telling QPR.co.uk that the draw was undoubtedly exciting, Rangers have a job to do in the league first ahead of the game with local rivals Chelsea.

'There's no doubt it's a great draw for us and all the lads are looking forward to it, but there's hardly been a word spoken about it," he said.

'There's so much football - important football - to be played between now and our trip to the Bridge, that the lads won't even start talking about it until we've taken care of the next three League fixtures.'

There has been various build up comments coming from Queens Park Rangers of late with both Jim Magilton and Matthew Connolly having their say on what will be an eventful clash.

The former West Ham United winger preferred to concentrate on league form, believing that Rangers have turned a corner by earning their first win that their performances have deserved.

'We need to turn our good performances in to victories," Ephraim continued.

'We've not got the points on the board that our performances have warranted to date, but we've won our first away match in the League and with two home fixtures in a row on the horizon, followed by a trip to Cardiff, we've got a great chance to kick on and put ourselves in a really strong position.'

Rangers now face two home games against Crystal Palace and Peterborough United before a tough away clash against high-flying Cardiff City.

Following this some welcome relief, as Jim Magilton has described it, when QPR travel to Stamford Bridge for the second time in two years to play Chelsea on Wednesday September 23.
