Striking Duo Missing For Posh Clash

Queens Park Rangers will be without two strikers for the visit of Peterborough United this weekend.

Young forward Angelo Balanta limped out of training yesterday with what is being described as a grade one groin tear, a similar injury to that of defender Fitz Hall.

It is expected that while the tear isn't serious, he will be sidelined along with Hall for a while to aid the recovery process.

This comes as Icelandic international Heidar Helguson was forced to withdraw from playing for his country this evening owing to tendonitis in his knee.

The injury isn't thought to be serious and he has returned home as a precaution and for further treatment at Loftus Road.

Martin Rowlands' progress was being monitored throughout the international break, and it has now been deemed that he is in contention for selection this weekend.

Rowlands rolled his ankle on the opening game of the season against Blackpool and hasn't taken part in any games since, but has since been given the all-clear after returning to full training.

ANOTHER "tear" injury. We are getting quite a few of them and its only a few weeks into the season. Makes you wonder if it is the training regime at present, as its getting beyond being coincidental
