Miller Signs For Hibs

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Liam Miller has found a new club following his release in May.

The Irish international has signed for Scottish Premier League side Hibernian and becomes boss John Hughes' sixth signing since taking the helm at Easter Road.

Hughes spoke of his delight to capture the former Celtic, Manchester United and Sunderland man:

'I am delighted that we have secured the services of a player with the experience and qualities of Liam Miller," Hughes told hibernianfc.co.uk

'I said at the end of the transfer window that we would not stop looking for the type of player we felt would enhance our squad, and I don't think there is any doubt that Liam will do that.

'When you look at the clubs Liam has played for, you know that he is a footballer of real quality, and at 28 years old is at an age where his best years are still ahead of him.'

Miller signed for Rangers on a free-transfer from Sunderland on a short-contract until the end of last season. He didn't impress sufficiently enough in the latter half of the season to earn himself an extension in W12.

The 28-year-old midfielder made 13 appearances for QPR without troubling the scorers and will be looking to rebuild a faltering career the only place he has proven successful thus far, north of the border.

I had hopes that he was going to rekindle his faltering career with us when he first came, only to be disappointed by what seemed like a lack of desire to show he was worth a long term deal.

Agreed Lenny, quite surprised considering he was trying to earn a deal!
