Ambitious Adel Eyes Weekend Win

Tottenham loanee Adel Taarabt believes that QPR can finish in the top six, but believes it's pivotal to get back to back wins at Loftus Road.

The young midfielder has impressed in recent times for both club and country, scoring winning goals for both in crucial situations.

He believes it's not only important to get maximum points this weekend, but to follow it up with a second victory on Tuesday night against Crystal Palace.

"It`s a very important game," Taarabt told QPR.co.uk

"To win the first game at home is very important for the fans and the club and to get quicker to the top six. We have two important games on Saturday and Tuesday and we have to get six points."

While stressing and emphasising that QPR are a top-six side, he has also set some ambitious targets for himself.

Taarabt wants his goal and assist tally to add up to 15 by the end of the campaign and he believes both his goals, and the club's ultimate goal can be achieved if Rangers bury their early opportunities and subsequently see the game out.

Adel scored his first goal of the season at Scunthorpe's Glanford Park at the weekend, going on a mazy run before rolling the ball past a reputable goalkeeper in Joe Murphy.

That is his second goal in a Rangers shirt, having scored the winner against Bristol City last season, latching onto a cross from now Ipswich town full-back, Damien Delaney.
