Jim's Disappointment at Palace Postponement

Queens Park Rangers boss Jim Magilton revealed his disappointment at the postponement of the Crystal Palace fixture, despite understanding the need to do so.

The R's boss spoke to QPR.co.uk following the announcement praising the ground staff for their efforts to get the game on.

He said: 'We've been guided by the safety officer and the referee.

'The rain hasn't stopped all afternoon - the groundsman and his staff have done everything they can to get the game on, but unfortunately the weather has won today.'

After discussing the problem area on the Ellerslie Road side of the ground with referee Mick Russell it was deemed the pitch was unplayable.

Steady rain throughout the afternoon made a patch of the surface unplayable, and Magilton was apologetic to supporters following the decision.

'We apologise to the fans that were looking forward to a good game, both our own and the Palace faithful," he continued.

'We were really looking forward to it ourselves, so we're bitterly disappointed.

'It's just one of those things though. It was a home game and we were looking forward to it, but we've got to accept the decision.'

Rangers now face a tough trip to Cardiff City at the weekend before a must-win clash against Barnsley when they return to W12.

Got half way there before I had to turn around!! New pitch as well - not too impressive. Looks like being a long winter with plenty of games called off.

Oh come now, you can't slag off the club - it's a concentrated period of rain, the roads were flooded n' all - was that Flavio's fault?
Boxer
Of course it was!

I've read some comments on facebook, and they're frankly laughable. Briatore to blame for everything - I expected some tongue in cheek comments but some people...!

Boxer: At least I got an evening's entertainment :) That said, Dame Edna was not very good, Barry Humphries other alter-ego was a bit more cutting and a lot ruder!! Overall, the Dame Edna stuff has worn very thin and has now started disappearing up it's creator's backside. At leasr I can look forward to the re-arrange QPR v Palace match.

Yeah good point, still the evening wasn't wasted, the long awaited meeting between number8 and Clonmany finally came to fruition - the results were amicable.

Good stuff, All we need now is that BBC Pest ABITB to get between them and stir things up!! Forget that, don't even think of letting him on!!
