Flavio Scandal - What It Could Mean For QPR

Queens Park Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore departed Renualt F1today which could have profound implications on his role at QPR.

Briatore, who is the chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd, has left Formula One with Renault unwilling to dispute the allegations surrounding Nelson Piquet Jnr being told to crash during the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

Should Briatore be found guilty at an FIA hearing in Paris on Monday (September 21) then that may leave him in hot water when it comes to Football League regulations.

Under Football League rules, any director or investor who owns more than 30 per cent of the club has to pass a fit-and-proper person test.

The following points prohibit a party from being involved with a Football League club:

* Anyone subject to a ban from a sports governing body relating to the administration of that sport.

* Anyone with an unspent conviction relating to fraud or dishonesty.

* Anyone disqualified from acting as a director of a UK registered company.

* Anyone currently subject to a bankruptcy order.

* Anyone who has been a director of a club that has been in administration twice during a five-year period or a director of two different clubs that have each gone into administration in a five-year period.

Supporters will have to wait for the outcome of the hearing on Monday, and then the decision will presumably lie with the football hierarchy as to his future in the sport.

Vital QPR brought you the news this morning that his position was under threat, and also confirmation of the official news early this afternoon.

Sandydl and Boxer: I have just seen an articlt in the Times-online banging on about Flav and his future at the loft. Can you tell me who the "spokesman" for the "IndependentRs" is? Every other week, there is some carp about our club and these press lowlife manage to wheel out some or other person/spokesmperson from some group or other who makes claims about this, that and the other that suits the argument that the paritcular journalist is wittering on about. I will stand up at this point and say that I couldn't give a fig about the likes of the LSA and others, who have been about as negative about the club that I have loved for more than 41 years, spouting their nonsense in whatever rag has chosen to publish their bile over much of the last 30 years. That may well upset some who contribute regularly here, but I remember well when the likes of the LSA set themselves up as "spokespeople" about the club, there were a lot amongst them with an agenda that was nearer to the neanderthal hooligan element that is still clinging to the club today. Aplogies to decent supporters who care, if I have offended them, but I am sick and tired of these groups that seem to appear from nowhere favouring the hack's point of view, yet seem to have no real clue about what they are saying!! BTW. How the hell do you pragragraph on here??

Forgive my typos. too much chilean red wine!! That said, my sentiments are not clouded by a very nice bottle of the stuff!

There is always someone out to grease their own palm at the expense of Queens Park Rangers - you should be used to it by ow QPR4Me. But dont worry, I'm sure you enjoyed the Childean red wine - and you can't paragraph in this section!!
sandydl
Sandydl. Loved the wine, am now drinking a nice cider?? Will go back to a diffrent wine later on. As I have done dinner and desert, I have to say, Eat you heart out Keith Floyd!! As for the paragraphing, that will be food for thought!
