Former Queens Park Rangers player and Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder admitted that it's hard to side with either team as they clash at St James' Park this evening.
After signing from Orient in 1978 for a fee of £250,000, Glenn went on to make 181 appearances for QPR scoring 18 goals.
He went on to skipper the side in his five year stint at Loftus Road before signing for tonight's opponents Newcastle United in 1983 - a side he went on to manage.
"They are two teams who are bang in form," Roeder told the Chronicle.
"QPR are going along really well at the moment while Newcastle are top.
"I know Jim Magilton and John Gorman well enough to know that they will be coming here to get the ball down and play through midfield.
"They won`t be an aggressive team to play against which suits Newcastle and is also likely to mean it will be a game that will be kind on the eye."
While admitting that Newcastle will always hold a place in his heart, he still has a soft spot for Queens Park Rangers, which stems back to him leading out his side at Wembley.
"I enjoyed my time at QPR and was captain of them in the 1982 FA Cup final so great memories from Loftus Road as well," Glenn said.
He made 193 appearances for Newcastle United scoring eight goals, before finishing his career with spells at Watford, Leyton Orient once more and finally Gillingham.
He has managed in the Premier League with West Ham United and Newcastle, taking the latter into European football and glory in the Inter-toto cup, being awarded the trophy in 2006.
