Jonás - A Hard-Earned Point

Newcastle United midfielder Jonás Gutiérrez believed that the draw against Queens Park Rangers yielded a useful point.

The Argentinean made his return from injury against the R's, replacing Nicky Butt at half time, nevertheless the Magpies lost their 100% record at St James' against a resilient QPR.

Ben Watson's deflected effort was cancelled out by a late goal from substitute Marlon Harewood, earning a point that Gutiérrez believed was hard earned.

'The teams below us lost so it's a good point,' he told the BBC

'It's a hard division, teams want to beat us and QPR had a good work ethic and players.'

The Magpies now host Bristol City on Saturday with a view to get back to winning ways at St James' Park.

Meanwhile QPR travel to South Wales to face former boss Paulo Sousa. The Liberty Stadium was the sight of Iain Dowie's final game in charge of the R's last season.

If they put in a display of the calibre shown at St James' Park, their grit, determination and new-found class could be enough to break through a resilient Swans defence.
