Football League Seeks Briatore Response

The Football League require a response from Queens Park Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore before deciding his future in the game.

Mr Briatore is currently having his position at the club reviewed by the Football League in light of his dismissal from Formula One in relation to the 'fit and proper persons test' in football.

The League met today to discuss both the issue regarding Flavio Briatore's ownership of QPR and the ownership situations at both Leeds United and nouveau-riche Notts County.

While many were hoping for a clear cut response from today's proceedings the League have issued the following statement:

'The Board conducted a comprehensive review of the situation, including the receipt of advice from leading counsel.

'After considering all the information presently available to it and in the interest of due process, the Board will seek responses from Mr. Briatore before commenting further.'

Quite how long the process is expected to take is unsure but Mr Briatore has been given a chance to respond.

Mr Briatore has not attended a QPR fixture since the ban was imposed on him from the FIA on Monday September 21.

He has a chance to persuade them that he is good enough and i guess his clout might help him here GL Briatore who saved the r'sssssssss

He can drag this on for a while, if he wants to. Hopefully if the FL do declare him unfit, we will be a premiership club capable of finding new owners.
