Cheltenham Town boss Martin Allen has indicated that new loan signing Romone Rose is in line for a starting berth against Accrington Stanley this weekend.
Rose was spotted by Allen at the R's recent reserve fixture against Brentford at Griffin Park.
The former Queens Park Rangers midfielder spoke to the Gloucester Citizen about his excitement over the recent Robins arrival, explaining his reasons for snapping up the youngster.
'Romone is young, fast and direct,' said Allen.
'I saw him play a couple of weeks ago against Brentford, when went to watch my son play.
'He played at right-back that day and did very well so I made a note of him.
'He can also play on either side of midfield or up front and I am looking to sign players who can go straight into the starting XI, so there is a good chance he will start at Accrington.'
Rose has already been out on loan this season to fellow League Two side Northampton Town, but was only given a fledgling two games to impress the Cobblers faithful.
While admitting that Rose may well go straight into the starting line-up at the Crown Ground this weekend, Allen also praised the effort and commitment of Rose during the reserve clash.
Allen continued: 'I watch a lot of games and it's fair to say that sometimes they can be quite boring.
'There is often a lack of commitment, energy and I come away thinking players are unmotivated and disillusioned.
'When I saw Romone play, it was the opposite.
'He caught my eye with his energy, positive attitude and his enthusiasm.'
The R's youngster has had previous loan spells at AFC Wimbledon and Histon prior to joining Northampton for a month at the start of the season.
He now joins up with former QPR man Allen, who made 136 appearances for the R's over five years at Loftus Road.
