Reading have dismissed speculation that midfielder Jay Tabb could be leaving the Madejski Stadium for Queens Park Rangers.
A fleeting reference in the Coventry Telegraph a few days ago indicated that the former Coventry City and Brentford midfielder could be set to leave Reading for Loftus Road.
Royals director Nicky Hammond is confident that the hard-working wide-man will stay and fight for his place in Brendan Rodgers' side.
'We've not had any contact from QPR and Jay is happy here at the moment," he said.
'Of course he wants to play games, but he is part of the first-team squad and fighting for his place like you would expect from a committed professional like Tabby.'
Once interested in Tabb prior to his move to Reading, it would now be a perplexing move if Rangers were to pursue this avenue.
Already bursting at the seams in midfield Rangers have an abundance of talent in both central and wide areas. Adding further talent without offloading players would be seen as a surprise.
