Dowie Tipped For Wycombe Post

Earlier it was John Gorman's name mentioned above most for the Adams Park post, now Iain Dowie is being hotly tipped as Peter Taylor's successor.

Windsor & Eton FC boss Keith Scott has been heavily tipped along with John Gorman, but doesn't expect his name to be in the frame for the final reckoning.

Instead he has tipped Iain Dowie to be the man that the Wycombe board punt for. He spoke to the Maidenhead Advertiser

'If I was a betting man I wouldn't put any money on me! I wouldn't be surprised if it was an Iain Dowie type character,' he said.

'All the things I'm hearing is the person who will come in will be someone who has got a knowledge of the lower leagues and the more I hear - and I may be a million miles off base here - but it wouldn't surprise me if Iain Dowie was the next manager.'

Dowie has been out of work since leaving Newcastle United along with Alan Shearer at the end of last season. He and the former Magpies forward couldn't prevent the side slipping from the Premier League.

Previously he was manager for a brief period at QPR, but his tenure was cut short after not seeing eye to eye with R's co-owner Flavio Briatore.

Take him. Gorman still has a job to do at W12.
