Youngsters Inspire Wins - Loan Update

A positive set of results by and large for the QPR loanees this weekend as we look at the R's plying their trade away from Loftus Road.

Young striker Antonio German started his second game in succession for Aldershot Town and didn't disappoint after a good showing midweek.

German made his debut in the slender Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Hereford United, but he and his team-mates helped dispel the disappointment with a thumping victory over Morecambe.

Goals from Marvin Morgan, Kirk Hudson, Louie Soares and an own goal by defender Craig Stanley secured the points for the Shots.

Paul Mullin's consolation strike for the Shrimps wasn't enough, as German was replaced by John Grant in the 71st minute.

The fortune didn't rub off on fellow loanee Romone Rose whose Cheltenham Town side were dished out a sound thrashing at the hands of cash-strapped Accrington Stanley.

Rose played on the right-flank, despite QPR boss Magilton preferring to use him in a full-back berth, and his Robins went into the break goalless with Stanley at the Crown Ground.

Cheltenham were swept away by Stanley in just under 20 minutes of madness in Lancashire as Chris Turner, a Phil Edwards penalty, and a John Grant grace - the latter an inspired lob saw the rout completed.

Rose was withdrawn by boss Martin Allen shortly before the 70 minute mark, replaced by striker Theo Lewis as the Robins slide further down the league table.

Meanwhile a young R's defensive duo helped Salisbury City to secure their fourth win on the bounce as Tommy Widdrington's side steer themselves away from the drop zone.

Young full back Lee Brown started his sixth game in succession at full back, while Joe Oastler started his third as the Whites hosted York City.

In form striker Matt Tubbs struck a fourth minute penalty for the hosts, and the young defenders were called upon when Ryan Tafazolli was given his marching orders with five minutes remaining.

It was backs to the wall stuff as Oastler dropped into defence, but the Salisbury managed to hold on against the Minstermen to continue their positive league run.
