IN ASSESSING his ever-growing list of casualties Jim Magilton paid tribute to the character of Martin Rowlands following the confirmation his season is over.

Rowlands suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury on international duty with the Republic of Ireland and the extent of the injury was confirmed today.

The QPR skipper will have to sit out the remainder of the season once again, and boss Magilton was quick to pay tribute to his captain.

'We're all absolutely gutted for Martin," Jim told QPR.co.uk

'He's an outstanding player and a top professional and to have suffered two serious injuries in as many seasons is absolutely heartbreaking for the lad.

'We'll all rally round him though and being the strong character that he is, I'm sure he'll bounce back fitter and stronger than ever.'

Despite Rowlands being unavailable through suspension this weekend, Magilton has a growing injury list to look to with Mikele Leigertwood and Alessandro Pellicori the latest victims.

Really sad stuff considering it's twice in two seasons.
