Rangers players plying their trade away from Loftus Road were roundly beaten in a week of disappointment for QPR's loanees.

Aldershot Town were to find out what league life without Gary Waddock was to be all about but inside ten minutes it seemed a moot point with Dave Winfield snaffling home a close range effort.

Antonio German started for the Shots alongside former R's Scott Donnelly and Dean Parrett, but his side were pegged back by Bury's Brian Barry-Murphy.

Louie Soares drew the hosts level from close range before Efe Sodje's emphatic header won the game for the Shakers with little under 15 minutes remaining.

Salisbury City were looking to extend a positive run in the Blue Square Premier Division as they haul themselves away from the drop zone.

Top scorer Matt Tubbs started from the bench and despite seeing the majority of the ball the visitors went one-down as Stevenage Borough's Mark Roberts handed the hosts a lead before half time.

Defenders Lee Brown and Joe Oastler dug in an contributed to the Whites' positive ball retention. Oastler himself was booked a minute before the opening goal from his holding midfield role.

The QPR connections were in evidence for Salisbury's equaliser with former youth product Chris Flood netting a goal. He put the ball past former QPR keeper Chris Day to continue his goalscoring run from the bench a minute after his introduction.

Goals from Charlie Griffin and Chris Beardsley condemned the visitors to defeat, and it was deserved on the wealth of opportunities that Stevenage enjoyed at Broadhall Way.

Heidar Helguson missed out through injury as his Watford side pulled off a surprise victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Manchester United loanee Tom Cleverley scored the only goal of the game as Boro supporters voiced their displeasure at their third home defeat in succession.

Finally Romone Rose didn't feature on Friday night at Martin Allen's Cheltenham Town were defeat at home by Macclesfield Town.

Rose looked on from the bench as former QPR youngster Ricky Sappleton opened the scoring before Wayne Rooney's younger brother John rifled home the second from the edge of the area.

The Robins bagged a consolation when former Leicester City and Fulham striker Elvis Hammond turned his man in the area to fire beyond Jonny Brain.
