Winger Wayne Routledge has been selected in the Championship team of the week for his contribution at the weekend.

The winger rounded off a thumping 4-0 win against Preston North End with a stunning strike from distance to compliment an excellent display.

The former Spurs and Aston Villa wide-man ran his opponents ragged throughout in his role behind Jay Simpson, and will look to retain this spot tomorrow night.

The full team is as follows:

Luke Steele (Barnsley)
Chris Gunter (Nottingham Forest)
Darren Purse (Sheffield Wednesday)
Marcel Seip (Blackpool)
Chris Cohen (Nottingham Forest)
Wayne Routledge (Queens Park Rangers)
Youssouf Mulumbu (West Bromwich Albion)
Grant McCann (Scunthorpe United)
Jerome Thomas (West Bromwich Albion)
Dexter Blackstock (Nottingham Forest)
Paul Hayes (Scunthorpe United)

That he was Merlin, showed glimpses against Chelsea, but on Saturday he was electric - I'm starting to see why Spurs spent good money on him.
