Dickov Fancies Chances

Derby County striker Paul Dickov believes his side can pick up a positive result against Queens Park Rangers at Pride Park this afternoon.

The veteran forward may get a start this afternoon owing to absences to Chris Porter, James Vaughan and Kris Commons.

The 36-year-old former Arsenal and Manchester City front-man is on loan at Pride Park from fellow Championship outfit Leicester City and believes the Rams can put their troubles behind them.

County were defeated by Middlesbrough during the week in what was Gareth Southgate's final game in charge, but Dickov has called on his side to bounce back today.

'It was a very frustrating and disappointing result on Tuesday, but we have to put it behind us,' Dickov told dcfc.co.uk.

'There is nothing we can do about it now, so we just have to go out there against QPR and hopefully get a good win.

'It is a big game for us and I don't believe that there is more pressure on us at home to get results because of our away form.

'There is pressure on us all the time so it is nothing new to us.'

The striker has made 404 appearances in a career spanning 19 years, but has only started once this season for the Rams during his brief loan spell.

He believes that Derby can be a match for any side at Pride Park, epitomised by useful wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.

'We fancy ourselves against anyone at home,' Dickov continued.

'We have to believe in ourselves and produce the type of performance like we have been doing against Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City where we picked up deserved wins.'

Rangers take on Derby in the late kick off live on the BBC - the first time Rangers have featured on the station in over a decade.
