Timing Crucial For Taarabt

Loan forward Adel Taarabt admits that his strike at the weekend came at the crucial time to mark the Rangers comeback.

Queens Park Rangers were two goals down with Paul Dickov and Robbie Savage striking for the Rams, but Taarabt's well-placed free-kick shortly before half time halved the deficit.

Into the second period Gavin Mahon levelled matters, before Jay Simpson and Ákos Buzsáky sewed up the memorable win.

Taarabt told QPR.co.uk that his strike minutes before half time was a crucial contribution towards Rangers comeback.

'It was a difficult match,' he said.

'At 2-0 down, we were staring defeat in the face, but the free-kick just before half-time was crucial.

'The timing of it, just before the break, gave us a huge boost. Had that not gone in, it might have been a different game.

'We knew we had 45 minutes to win the game and we did it.'

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee admitted that while every game in this division provides its own test, if Rangers continue to play the same way then they can achieve promotion.

It was Taarabt's third goal this season along with strikes against Scunthorpe United and Preston North End, all three goals grounded in individual excellence.
