Moss Refs Foxes Clash

Referee Jonathan Moss will take charge of the Friday night clash between Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City.

Moss from West Yorkshire progressed from the National List of Assistant Referees to the full Referees List in 2005.

His first fixture as a fully-fledged referee was Shrewsbury's home defeat to Rochdale courtesy of a Grant Holt strike in August 2005.

He went on to officiate 31 games that season dishing out 108 yellows and eight red cards. There was also a smattering of Championship games and there would be more to come the next season.

Mr Moss was given 12 Championship clashes including Leicester City's 3-1 home win over Ipswich Town, finishing the season with more reasonable figures of 99 yellows and nine reds in 40 matches.

Refereeing Rangers

In 2007/08 Mr Moss oversaw his first Rangers game as Mick Harford's QPR lost out to Colchester United at Layer Road.

Following the sacking of Gregory, Harford dipped into the transfer market to sign Rowan Vine, both he and Hogan Ephraim scored in a 4-2 defeat against the eventually-relegated U's.

The following season QPR entertained Steve Coppell's Reading, a side looking a good bet for a playoff place. In a typically dull affair it ended goalless at Loftus Road.

Later on that season Rangers had the chance to play party poopers as they travelled to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who needed just one more win to secure their place in the Premier League.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's goal just after half time secured the points and the prize for Wolves who were promoted as champions of the Championship.

The televised clash between QPR and Leicester will be his fourth Rangers game in total and his fifth Championship game of the season.

So far he has officiated 13 games, dishing out 39 yellow cards and two reds giving him an average card rating of 3.15 cards per game.
