In a never-ending list of striker rumours Jim Magilton is apparently casting an eye over Watford forward Nathan Ellington.

A throwaway article by the Daily Star suggests that Rangers are looking to sign the former Wigan Athletic and Derby County forward in January.

Add that to other rumours linking the R's with the likes of Jermaine Beckford, Simeon Jackson and the recently imprisoned Marlon King.

The article also makes reference to what they believe is Martin Rowlands retiring from football after the latest in a string of injuries.

If there's no fact behind this article it is in rather poor taste and putting the boot in to a player who must be down after another long-term injury.

While QPR fans continue to wait to see if any of these reported deals come to fruition, they can look to loanees like Jay Simpson and Adel Taarabt to carve out their attacking threat and goals.

i laughed to see the whole marlon king thing ... think he has spent more time in prison than the premiership! I'm hoping we sign another striker who is proven at this level, so king would've been a great signing!! Wait and see what happens in January. I think agyman is a threat but needs more time after his injury, Rowan Vine is quality but finds it hard to hit the back of the net!! Ellington would be a good signing with our attacking threat around him!
