Reports today are suggesting that Jim Magilton may soon hand a debut to 14-year-old Raheem Sterling, after the youngster continues to impress in training.

According to the People Sterling is poised to be the youngest first-teamer in British football history, beating the record set by Barnsley's Reuben Noble-Lazarus last season.

According to the report Magilton hopes to hand Sterling his debut shortly after his 15th birthday next month, making him the youngest player to ply his trade in the league.

Raheem has scored for the R's under 18s, once with a tremendous solo effort from the bench against Brentford, followed by a brace against basement club Barnet.

Quite how long Sterling will remain a QPR play is open to debate with Manchester United one of several Premier League clubs sniffing around the talent.

Indeed both he and his agent were VIP guests at Liverpool's clash against the Red Devils last week, as Rangers seemed consigned to losing him in the future.

The youngster, according to these reports, snubbed a YTS contract in favour of the game at Anfield with a fee of £1m being touted around for his services.
