Gregory Eyes Albion Job

Former QPR boss John Gregory is looking to get back into football and is reportedly interested in the vacant post at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Argus is reporting that the former Rangers boss is looking to replace Russell Slade after he was sacked for a disappointing run of results.

After Steve Coppell pulled out the race to replace him at the Withdean, 55-year-old Gregory could be in line to return, but Steve Cotterill, Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet are reportedly in the running.

Gregory signed for Brighton from Aston Villa and over two years he made 72 appearances for the Seagulls. Terry Venables made him a QPR player in 1981 and he made 161 appearances for the R's.

During his spell with Rangers he was capped six times by England. He came back to manage Rangers in 2006, leading QPR to a memorable campaign where they sensationally secured their Championship safety.

He took charge of 48 games, won 13 of them , drew 12 and was defeated 23 times. He was sacked from his post as manager after a 5-1 humbling at the hands of West Bromwich Albion.
