Dowie 8/1 For Posh Post

Former QPR boss Iain Dowie has been made a second favourite 8/1 to replace Darren Ferguson at Peterborough.

His departure hasn`t been officially confirmed yet but bookies are already offering odds as to who will succeed him at London Road.

Joint favourites are Steve Coppell and Peter Taylor, formerly of Reading and Wycombe Wanderers respectively.

Then come second best Iain Dowie and former Leeds United manager Gary McAllister, with no outright definitive odds to fill the reportedly vacant post.

Dowie has been out of work since leaving Newcastle United along with Alan Shearer at the end of last season.

He hasn`t had a management role since being sacked by Queens Park Rangers before the turn of the year in 2009.
