Vital QPR brings you a little more information on the young goalkeeper who has made the squad for the first time tomorrow.

Name: Shane McWeeney

Date of Birth: 14-10-1989 (Cricklewood)

Former Clubs: Reading, Warrington Town Tranmere Rovers

* Young goalkeeper released by Reading in 2008

* Joined up with Glenn Hoddle's academy in Jerez in a bid to work his way back into the game, where he and the other recruits learned Spanish.

* Has featured for the QPR under 18s and reserves in recent weeks, notably in the second string's win over Crawley last week.

* Glenn Hoddle once commented of the young goalkeeper: 'Shane impressed me as a goalkeeper, with his all-round ability during the selection process and I am delighted that he has signed a full-time contract with the academy.

'He not only demonstrated his vision and shot-stopping prowess, but also his willingness to learn, something critical to his future success, as we work with him to develop his skills and prepare him for a footballing future.'

McWeeney is set to be named on the bench at Doncaster Rovers tomorrow as Rhys Taylor signed too late to be named among the numbers tomorrow.
