Queens Park Rangers wonder-kid Raheem Sterling has reportedly informed Rangers of his desire to leave Loftus Road.

The Mirror are reporting that the 14-year-old starlet has moved a step closer to signing for Manchester City after notifying QPR of his desire to move.

This is in stark contrast to direct quotes by Sterling himself who told the Kilburn Times last week of his goal to reach the QPR first team.

He said: 'Everyone's been pretty nice.

'They all just treat me like one of them and want me to do my best. I'd like to play a few more games for the reserves and do well in training and play for the first team eventually.

The youngster has courted the attention of England's elite since breaking through into the QPR Under 18s, reserves and subsequently the England Under 16s.

At such a tender age he has proven one of England's hottest commodities and Manchester City are reportedly desperate to land their target.

City fan here. Must confess I'd not heard anything about this player until the last week or two and we were linked with him Is he as good as the press are making out?

We didn't know anything about him until he started playing for the under 18s this season! I follow the Under 18s progress quite closely and I'd never heard of him before then! Saw him play for England and he looks a top player it must be said - good footballing brain, great skill and certainly belies his age at 14. Shame he's been turned by agents it seems - because he was more than happy to stay last week.

It's in The Mirror, must be true then! That's why I don't read papers anymore, if it's not about Strictly Dumb Dancing or I used to be a zzzzzzz list celebrity, it's them making up rubbish to fill the sports pages. Rant over!

Sadly the Mirror have been fairly spot on with us recently, I don't doubt there's more than an element of truth in this either sadly. I just hope the lad really thinks hard before doing it. Forget QPR for a moment, leaving any side to go and sit in an academy for five/six years, when first team football is just around the corner at your current club is a nonsense, and nothing more than bad guidance.

I can't imagine there's any supporter, even Man City ones, who would think that taking this player at such an early age should be allowed. There ought be an age limit, say under 17, where the player should remain with his club. I know it's happened before, I didn't think it was right then either.
