Reid Delighted Just To Play

Steven Reid has stated that while he was disappointed with the weekend showing, he is delighted to be back playing football.

Reid has been blighted by spells on the sidelines, the latter a cruciate ligament injury keeping him out for the majority of last season.

He has featured for Sam Allardyce at Blackburn this season in the Carling Cup, but is happy to be back to the day to day business of playing football.

Speaking to Sky Sports the former Millwall man revealed that there is nothing quite like playing regularly, and the QPR players have made him feel at home.

'I can't explain how great it is to be back playing league football on a Saturday," he said.

'I've played a couple of games in the Carling Cup for Blackburn, but it's not the same as being out there in the league at the weekend.

'The lads here have been brilliant though, and I had the usual initiation on the way up to Doncaster. We were stuck in a bit of traffic and a few of them thought it would be a good time to switch the microphone on and get me up to sing a song.'

Reid made his debut in the 2-0 defeat against Doncaster Rovers last weekend, but will be looking to retain his place in the starting line-up this Saturday against Coventry.
