Ex-Blade Envisions Tough Test
Mikele Leigertwood anticipates a difficult cup clash against former club Sheffield United, as they look to dispel a poor recent competition record.
Leigertwood played for the Blades in the Premier League for a brief period after making the move from Crystal Palace.
The midfielder believes that United will be formidable opposition at Bramall Lane, and is anticipating a difficult game in Sheffield.
'It's a tough draw for us,' he told QPR.co.uk
'It won't be easy. They're a decent, hardworking side and their home record over the years is very formidable.'
While the test is undoubtedly set to be keenly fought with two of the division's Championship hopefuls locking horns, Leigertwood believes that the R's have a big chance to dispel their poor cup record.
He said: 'Our best form - with the exception of Saturday, when we were exceptional in the attacking third - has been on our travels, so it might suit us being drawn away from home.'
More importantly however Rangers face the Blades in the Championship only a fortnight earlier, in what could prove to be an early blow in the build up for the FA Cup.
Rangers haven't picked up a win in the FA Cup since 2001, when defeating Luton Town in a replay. Since then Arsenal, Swansea City, Vauxhall Motors and Nottingham Forest have got the better of Rangers along with Blackburn Rovers, Luton, Chelsea and Burnley.
