Connolly Rallies The Troops

Defender Matt Connolly is urging himself and his team-mates to pick up a crucial three points this weekend.

Rangers take on Middlesbrough, who themselves remain winless under new boss Gordon Strachan, and the hosts will be looking for their first maximum in their last three attempts.

QPR were beaten by Leicester before draws against Crystal Palace and Coventry City have stifled Rangers' progress in the Championship.

Defensive errors have crept into the hosts' game in recent weeks, with the solid defence of last year almost unrecognisable despite similar personnel.

One of the recent centre-back selections, Connolly, has called upon Rangers to pick up a crucial home win this weekend as one of the pre-season favourites come to town.

'If you want to be up there, you have to win your home games,' Connolly told Sky Sports

'Then away from home take it game by game and get what you can.

'It's been disappointing not to win any of our last three home games but now we've just got to concentrate on beating Middlesbrough.

'We've done fantastic at home this season and it helps create a great atmosphere at Loftus Road. If we can play the same football and get that back then hopefully we can get back to winning ways.'

Connolly has featured alongside Kaspars Gorkss and Fitz Hall in recent games, as Magilton continues to try different combinations along the back-line.

The former Arsenal trainee will hope to retain his place this weekend despite a defensive mistake allowing Leon Best to head home at the weekend.
