Heidar Anticipates QPR Return

Queens Park Rangers striker Heidar Helguson anticipates his return to Loftus Road, but admits it will be difficult leaving Watford.

The striker has been in good form for the Hornets since signing on loan, with five goals in three starts for the club.

His deal is due to come to an end soon and he is no clearer of his position at Watford - he therefore expects to be returned to QPR at the end of his spell.

Speaking to the Watford Observer the in-form marksman revealed that he has held discussions with Queens Park Rangers regarding his position, and doesn't believe that his situation has changed.

'I have spoken to [assistant manager] John Gorman.' he said.

'I didn't leave on bad terms at all so I would expect to train with the first team and be involved because there isn't any animosity, there isn't. So if or when I go back it should be like normal.'

With Rangers still paying half his wages, Watford cannot afford to take on the Icelandic international on a permanent basis, especially given that chairman Jimmy Russo has recently had to pump an extra £1m of his own money.

Even if Heidar was to cut his wage significantly it would still fall outside of Watford's wage structure according to the newspaper - as the Hornets head into the second half of the season uncertain of their financial future.
