Former Palermo forward Denis Godeas has rejected an offer to join Queens Park Rangers.

The 34-year-old journeyman Italian forward revealed on his Facebook page that he has refused an offer to join the R's.

He said: rifiutata l'offerta del QPR (serie B inglese). Voglio chiudere la carriera a Trieste!!

Which as any schoolboy knows means roughly, Refused an offer from QPR - I want to finish my career at Triestina, (current club)

It sets Rangers' current intention of going after a striker to either replace or compliment current top scorer Jay Simpson, who currently leads the line on his own.

In other news Simeon Jackson is very close to signing for Queens Park Rangers, Vital QPR understands.

At present the two parties are 'dotting the I's and crossing the T's' on a deal to bring the Jamaican forward from Gillingham to Loftus Road.
