Queens Park Rangers confirmed this evening that they have parted company with manager Jim Magilton and his assistant John Gorman.

Speculation has been wide-spread about their futures at the club following an alleged incident between Magilton and Ákos Buzsáky following the defeat to Watford.

Gorman's future was also in some doubt after choosing not to work unless Jim was reinstated and both received clarification of their future today (Wednesday).

A club statement on QPR.co.uk read:

The Club can confirm that Jim Magilton and John Gorman have left Queens Park Rangers by mutual consent.

Recent events have been widely reported and whilst Jim Magilton completely denies the allegations, with the full support of John Gorman, it has been agreed that it is in the best interests of the Club and Jim Magilton, if the parties move on in their separate ways.

The Club would like to wish both Jim Magilton and John Gorman good luck in the future and thank them for their hard work.

Paul Hart and Mick Harford are due to be announced as the chosen duo to take on the vacant post prior to the meeting with Sheffield United this weekend.

Vital QPR would like to express its gratitude to Jim and John for their work over the past few months
