In the build up to this weekend's clash between Rangers and Sheffield United, Kevin Blackwell revealed the club's summer interest in him.
Blackwell takes his Sheffield United side to Loftus Road this weekend, but had the decision of chairman Kevin McCabe been different it could be him in the W12 hot-seat.
The Blades boss revealed to sufc.co.uk that while he is happy at Bramall Lame he was flattered by the approach from Queens Park Rangers.
When asked about the approach he said: 'They did in the summer
'The chairman (McCabe) quite rightly said he wouldn't allow me to go to QPR or to speak to them.
'I'm very happy at Sheffield United, I always have been and I work for a great chairman but it was nice that people thought enough of you to make an approach.'
Going into the clash weekend and Blackwell assesed the R's squad believing them to be one of the better few in the Championship.
The United manager stated however that the team ethic is something that holds them back from achieving their true position, as they continue to teeter on the brink.
'Individually maybe one of the most gifted squads in the Championship but as a team sometimes not as effective as they could be,' he said.
'It's a club that's teetering one way or the other but doesn't quite know which way to go.'
This weekend marks another management team coming to the helm at Loftus Road with Jim Magilton replaced by Paul Hart, assisted by Mick Harford.
While Blackwell stated that he wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley, he was full of praise for the duo's attitude both on and off the pitch.
'That is a fearsome pairing when you look at it,' continued Blackwell.
'Take them off the pitch and they're two of the nicest people you've ever met and I'll be looking forward to having a hopefully victorious beer with them afterwards.'
Rangers are looking to smash United's six game unbeaten run as they blaze a trail towards the playoff places, while also stemming the tide of their poor recent home form.
