Queens Park Rangers have announced their capture of Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back Matt Hill on loan.

It is Mick Harford's second capture of the window following Nigel Quashie's arrival, and Hill is poised to go straight into the squad for the match with Forest tomorrow.

The former Preston North End and Bristol City man has signed a deal until the end of the season on loan from Premier League Wolves - following in the footsteps of 'keeper Carl Ikeme.

Rangers have tried once before to capture Hill following his departure from Ashton Gate, but instead he opted for Preston and his career has kicked on since then.

He helped Wolves achieve promotion from the Championship last season, and is hoping to emulate this achievement at Loftus Road.

The move was primarily motivated by Hill's desire to play games, with opportunities at Molineux limited this term.

He told QPR.co.uk: "Every footballer wants to be playing games and unfortunately I wasn't getting that at Wolves.

"QPR have given me the opportunity to do that here, so I am delighted to join."

He added: "I spoke with Mick Harford before I joined, and the chat we had was certainly enough to convince me to come down here.

"I like to think I am the sort of player who is all-hearted, and always gives it everything when I play.

"I consider myself to be a good defender and a good organiser. Defending is my main strength, but I'll also be looking to get forward when I can and provide some crosses."

The 28-year old defender made 14 appearances for Wolves last term, eight of which were clean sheets as they cruised to the Championship title.
