Queens Park Rangers defender Fitz Hall has today departed the club for Newcastle United until the end of the season.

The defender who signed from Wigan Athletic back in 2008 has joined winger Wayne Routledge on Tyneside as Newcastle look to sure up their rearguard in the latter stages of the season.

Hall has had a mixed time at Loftus Road, while initially proving successful he quickly fell behind Kaspars Gorkss and Damion Stewart in the pecking order in W12.

When called upon this season Hall certainly hasn't set the world alight, epitomised by his final display away at Blackpool, as he looks to kick-start his career at St James' Park.

He has joined the Magpies on loan until the end of the season and will give wage a hefty section of the wage bill to play with once more, as the window comes to a close.
