'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bent Happy To Come Home

New signing Marcus Bent stated that he jumped at the opportunity to return to West London.

Born and raised in Hammersmith, the forward is now looking to do what he does best for his local club - hit the back of the net.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk the Birmingham City loanee stated that he jumped at the chance to come home.

'I've been hearing rumours about the possibility of the move for a few weeks to be honest, but nothing ever came of it,' he said.

'Then I got a call yesterday asking if I would be interested in joining QPR, and I jumped at it.

'I'm buzzing about coming here. I was brought up in Shepherds Bush and I used to go and watch the likes of Les Ferdinand and Andy Impey with my dad and my uncle.

'QPR was definitely a team I followed and looked out for.'

There is a great deal expected from the Rangers players at present given their recent performances, and the pressure will undoubtedly be on Marcus to fill the void.

This however is something that he thrives upon, and is relishing the challenge of firing QPR into contention.

'There might be a bit of pressure on me to come in and get goals, but I thrive on that to be honest,' Bent added.

'I think being under pressure beings the best out in you, and I put great demands on myself anyway.

'I want to play games, that's what you train all week for - to be involved on a matchday. That's every footballer's goal, and is definitely the case with me.

'Now I am feeling really fit and I am ready to go, I can't wait to get started.'

Bent is expected to go into the squad to face Peterborough United this weekend, after another lacklustre attacking display against Scunthorpe at the weekend.
