Danny McDermid will take charge of this weekend's encounter between Peterborough United and Queens Park Rangers.

The official has courted controversy in his brief career since joining the National List of Referees in 2006.

The Hampshire-based official was charged with swearing at then Leeds United boss Dennis Wise in a stormy fixture with Gillingham - but was found innocent.

He also disallowed three goals in another heated affair between Colchester United and Leicester City in 2007 - while changing his mind after red carding U's midfielder Karl Duguid.

The official cites London Road as the venue of one of his proudest achievements - his Football League debut as Peterborough took on Bristol Rovers.

This weekend he will be assisted by former referee Darren Drysdale (Lincolnshire) and Nick Hobbis (Birmingham) - the fourth official Alan Parker (Derbyshire).
