Neil Warnock heaped praise on the Queens Park Rangers defence after they kept their first clean sheet in 25 games.

The R's boss has now presided over back to back wins following last night's win over Plymouth Argyle, but the blank in the goals conceded column was a particular delight to many.

Goals from Adel Taarabt and Damion Stewart saw the R's through to victory as the defensive unit held firm for only the fourth time this season.

Warnock told QPR.co.uk that while Plymouth worked hard, Rangers were more than worthy of the victory in a professional display.

'It was much-needed and well deserved, because we defended very well,' he said.

'The two centre-backs were magnificent, as were the full-backs and Carl was solid as a rock.

'We've been very slack in the past looking at the DVD's, but we don't take unnecessary risks anymore and we got the clean sheet we were after tonight.

'We defended well as a team - right from the front through Jay, Adel and Hogan.

'They all worked very hard to close the game out.'

It doesn't get much easier for Rangers who must now travel to another of Warnock's former sides - Sheffield United - who sit six places and five points above the R's.

He is sure to receive an excellent reception being a Blades fan, but his concentration will be fully on the task ahead as he looks to maintain a 100% record.
