Warnock Relishes Bramall Challenge

Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock is relishing the challenge of facing his home-town club Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The former Blades gaffer took charge of 388 United games including a brief stint in the top flight, before departing in 2007.

Since his departure the Blades have failed to match Warnock's achievements as they languish outside the playoffs under protégé Kevin Blackwell.

Warnock told QPR.co.uk that he always holds fond memories of Bramall Lane as a Sheffield lad, and looks forward to his first test on the road.

'It's always a great day out for me,' Warnock said.

'I've got a lot of friends and family up there, so it will be an emotional occasion.

'We got battered up there with Palace, so we'll certainly be looking to get a positive result.'

The R's gaffer revealed that he won't relent in his ideals of the game, which United fans will know all too well, as the R's travel to Sheffield.

Rangers won't be looking for a point from the offset - instead searching to inflict a first defeat in 11 games for the Blades on home soil.

'We won't change our philosophy,' he continued.

'We'll go there looking to win the game.

'It will be my toughest test as QPR manager. They'll be backed by 25,000 or so fans, so it will be another good challenge for the players.

'I'll be interested to see how the react to playing away from home, because it's my first taste of it at the Club.'

There are 700 tickets still available from the initial allocation of 1100 as fans brace themselves for their second trip to Bramall Lane this season.
