Beattie Is Not An 'R'

QPR have been priced out of a loan move for Stoke City striker James Beattie.

The former England frontman, was reportedly on his way to Loftus Road, but Rangers have baulked at his £40,000-a-week wages, along with Beattie's state of fitness following a knee operation.

Beattie, 32, whose previous clubs include Blackburn Rovers, Southampton, Everton and Sheffield United, has made 23 appearances for Stoke this season, scoring twice, but hasn't featured for more than two months.

I think it could have been a quality signing for the player himself - however a reported 40k a week would have proven less than harmonious among the squad methinks!

YES I would think he would become a show off and other players would ask for higher wages so yes we were lucky not to get him

40,000 a week plus expenses? Who does Beattie think he is? An MP?If thats what clubs are having to pay for a journeyman footballer its no wonder Portsmouth went bust...
