COOK TO STAY WITH QPR

Breaking news, Lee Cook has been offered a two-year deal to extend his QPR contract until 2009.

Club chairman Gianni Paladini confirmed Cookie was keen to stay with his boyhood heroes and was looking forward to working with Gary Waddock and Alan McDonald.

Speaking to qpr.co.uk he said:

'I've spoke to Lee's agent who has confirmed that he's happy to stay with us for another two years.

'He's looking forward to working with Gary Waddock and Alan McDonald next season and is very optimistic about the future.'

Cookie is currently away on holiday but should be joined by Shabazz Baidoo in signing new contracts.

Baidoo has rejected the two previous contract offers placed in front of him but after an agent change his future looks likely to be at Loftus Road.

Paladini also confirmed the club are still looking to strenghten ahead of the new season.

'We've already agreed terms with one target which will be announced soon. He'll give us more depth in the defensive unit and we're also keen to sign one or two strikers before the start of the season.'
