Darren Deadman from Cheshunt will take charge of the final game of the season as Rangers take on champions Newcastle United

Deadman, a Civil Servant in Peterborough, joined the National List of assistant referees in 2000 and the referees' list in 2005.

He has overseen a number of QPR games already, and the two games of which he has taken charge at Loftus Road have ended in home wins.

This weekend he will be assisted by Tony Mason (Kent) and Mr Geoff Russell (Northamptonshire) with the fourth official Mr Mike Blackledge (Cambridgeshire).

Thus far this season Mr Deadman has taken charge of 34 games dishing out 84 yellows and five reds, giving him an average of 2.47 cards per game.

Refereeing Rangers

Mr Deadman's third Championship fixture was John Gregory`s first as QPR boss as Rangers reeled from the departure of Gary Waddock and an appalling away League Cup loss to Port Vale.

The former QPR midfielder was drafted in to the manager's hot seat. The R's won the game 2-0 against visitors Hull City courtesy of goals from strike force Ray Jones and Dexter Blackstock.

The following season he saw first hand the transformation at Loftus Road as a rejuvenated QPR hosted Bristol City.

Rangers swept the Robins out of sight under Luigi De Canio, with Patrick Agyemang continuing his stunning goalscoring run and Ákos Buzsáky making it 3-0 to the R's.

A draw against the Robins at Ashton Gate saw Rangers cling onto a point when down to ten men - the official came in for some harsh criticism from Vital QPR co-editor Sandydl, who said:

"I refuse to comment on the referee, whose performance today was, quite frankly, appalling and left many of us angry. There were even chants from the home fans of 'you don`t know what you`re doing'. Better I step back, like a lady, than tell you all what I think of Darren Deadman!"

Emmanuel Ledesma harshly sent off for two bookable offences five minutes after half time but Dexter Blackstock's reactions from a rebound came before Dele Adebola equalised for the Robins.

After the turn of the year QPR travelled to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest and were a goal down when Matteo Alberti gave Lewis McGugan the chance to net from the penalty spot.

Alberti then turned the game on its head with two well taken goals before a Lee Camp clanger allowed Chris Cohen to bag the equaliser just after the hour mark. A bitter pill to swallow for Rangers fans seeing their keeper leave the field to mutual adulation with the home support.

The R's then had Mr Deadman a third time in the 2008/09 season when they faced Sheffield Wednesday - and unbelievably fell two goals down despite dominating.

A Gavin Mahon own goal and Marcus Tudgay saw the Owls into a two goal buffer before Rowan Vine, Mahon - atoning for his error - and Damion Stewart saw the R's to a memorable comeback.

Polter Saves QPR

A SECOND half strike from Seb Polter ensured Queens Park Rangers took a share of the spoils in a less than thrilling return to the Pirelli Stadium for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

While the home supporters chanted the name of their former manager - who guided them into League One and helped pave the way for their current Championship status - the visiting supporters were left exasperated by another fairly tepid display.

It could have been worse for the visiting side as they fell behind
