Faurlín Reigns Supreme

Alejandro Faurlin took centre stage at the Player of the Year event last night (Sunday), as he took home both the Supporters and Players' Player of the Year.

Having signed for QPR last summer for a reported £3.5 million, the Rs number 18 capped off a successful first season in English football through being rewarded with both accolades.

Establishing himself in the heart of the Rangers midfield, Faurlín has been ever-present in QPR's 2009/2010 campaign and reigned supreme at the awards ceremony.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, the Argentinean has guided Rangers through a tough season with his superb equanimity, creativity and determination.

The Loftus Road faithful soon warmed to Faurlin's style of play and it wasn`t too long before he was creating formidable partnerships with both Adel Taarabt and Jay Simpson to form a deadly looking Rangers attack.

It took Alejandro a while to net his first Rangers goal, but having poked the ball home against Sheffield Wednesday in April, he'll be aiming to add more goals to his array of talent.

With clubs supposedly taking a closer look at the talented South American, QPR will want to keep Faurlín at the club for as long as possible in a bid to establish themselves as promotion contenders.

Perhaps Maradona should be keeping an eye on him for a surprise call up to the World Cup?!

A special mention goes to Adel Taarabt who earned himself the Supporters' Young Player of the Year crown, with his superb attacking, skilful displays throughout the season.

With such talent at his disposal already, Warnock will be licking his lips at the thought of creating a new look Rangers side, with the hope of Premier League football in the not too distant future.
